Visit the WCED Learner Admissions portal

Go to the official admissions page: Learner Admissions 
This is the system you’ll use to apply for Grades R, 1, 8 (and transfers for other grades). 

Register / log in

Create an account (or login) so you can submit an application for your child. The terms and conditions page confirms you’ll be using the online form. admissions.westerncape.gov.za+1

Select the school and grade

When filling in the application, choose Lotus High School – location: Park Crescent, Grassy Park / Lotus River, Cape Town. lotushighschool.co.za+1
Indicate the grade you’re applying for (e.g., Grade 8 or other relevant grade).

Upload the required supporting documents

According to the WCED site, for a public school application you must upload certified copies of:

  • Learner’s birth certificate or ID (or passport/permit if foreign)
  • Parent/guardian ID
  • Proof of residence (utility account, lease, affidavit)
  • Latest school report (if transferring)
  • For initial enrolments: immunisation card / Road to Health chart (esp. for primary) Western Cape Government+1

    • Submit the application by the deadline

    For Grades R, 1 and 8 the application window is typically early in the year (check the portal for current dates). For transfer applications (Grades 2-7 and 9-12) the window opens in August. Western Cape Government

    Wait for outcome and follow up

    Once your application is processed, you’ll be informed of the decision. If accepted, you’ll proceed with registration at the school.
